ran diagnostic everything came up fine,
Mobo is an ASUS A8S-X UAYZ, CPU is an AMD athlon 64 3000+,
i think the problem was either a) the slot that the memory was in (had some problems with that before) or b) the fact that the mobo was trying to OC' the RAM have changed both of those and had no problem's since but will give it a week run in before i make any conclusions
