I guess I'm not seeing the problem -- as has been mentioned in the link you posted, just rip the CD tracks into WAV files -- import them into your timeline and you're all set.
Of course you could drop Studio 7 and use Adobe Premiere or Sonic Foundry Vegas Video and not have that problem. Both will import from CD with no problems.
