I switched from AVG to Avira recenty. I was having problems with AVG, it would start running at the worst times even though I scheduled it at a different time, when it would scan it would bog down the system to the point of being unable to watch video, annoying pop-up ad, very lacking in settings. Installed Avira and everything is great, I couldn't be happier. I don't think I've ever tried Avast but Avira meets all my needs at the moment.
