there are 2 obvious things you need to make sure of when you install:

make sure that the track is level
make sure that the track is perpendicular to the door

but if this is just a swap out that shouldn't be an issue.

as to power outages: there is a cord with a red handle on mine that decouples the door from the track which allows you to manually raise and lower the door.
