I've never understood that name either. Always heard it was just because they were on tv so much that people everywhere new what team they were. I guess that was back before satellite tv when you only got a couple games each Sunday. Who knows? I can't really make fun of that name though, even being a Redskins fan, because heck, we're not doing that good anymore either AND we have those "hog-ette" guys that sit in the stands with the dresses, sun hats, and pig noses on.
As a Redskin fan though, that implosion WAS rather fun to watch.
