Kad, the adapter was gotten because the TV is not digital and they are changing all the channels totally digital (supposedly are sending both ways now.) Last night I was pressed for time, so I hooked up and bypassed the box for now so I can continue recording. I will finish messing with it later. Thanks to you and others for the help, advice and empathy. :-) The Pioneer is nice because I can burn to DVD too.
