Vista Laptop: "Plugged in...not charging"

I have a Toshiba laptop (Satellite A305) that gave me a new problem today...

It was plugged in, but the battery wasn't charging. Hovering over the power icon gave me the message "plugged in, not charging". I tried a power off, battery pull, restart, but that didn't help.

After a quick Google I found this (and it solved the problem, for now):

1. Disconnect AC
2. Shutdown
3. Remove battery
4. Connect AC
5. Startup
6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI
Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall
7. Shutdown
8. Disconnect AC
9. Insert battery
10. Connect AC
11. Startup

What do you think, some flaky windows deal, or a failing battery/power supply? The battery is a few months old (not that that means anything these days).
