There goes #4!
Built my desktop computer about 3 years ago and when I did, I put in 4x Seagate 500GB drives in RAID 5 (those being "the one" to buy at the time, 5yr warranty). Shortly after, to find out that these are the ones with the bad firmware that can cause a failure on reboot.
All I can say is I'm glad I set up the RAID 5, I've had 3 of the drives fail over the past 3 years and when I got home from school yesterday, found that #4 went for a permanent vacation. New drive on its way under priority replacement.
