Just to clarify:

In 'folder options' under the 'view' tab, you have the box checked that says:'Show hidden files folders and drives'?

When the files were hidden, did you use a command prompt?

It tells you how to make a file 'a hidden file' through its attributes. Folowing this procedure should allow you to change the file's attributes back to a nonhidden file.
