WinXP Gateway

Okay, this is concerning the computer I bought the memory for and asked about the updates in this particular forum. I wiped the hard drive and am going to reinstall things from scratch now that the memory is installed (instead of cloning the 20 gig). Instead of having to install the Gatway OS disc that I think was pre-SP1 (which appeared to be a separate one), may I use the one I bought for the system in my sig that has SP3 on it, and use the Gateway license number? That would save quite a bit of updating. Then would go do the Gateway Drivers disc and then the other programs (if needed) if I do so?
