You should be able to type ANY value between 1 and whatever in that window as long as it does not exceed the available space on your hard drive. I have seen this value set as high as 1,265 but that is ridiculous. The lower you keep that number the faster IE will work. I keep mine set at 10MB and have no problem with having as many as 20 IE windows open at one time. If it will not let you change the value then there is a problem with the IE software. Try running the repair tool in ADD/REMOVE programs. Click on Internet Explorer and Internet Tools in AD?REMOVE and click the add/remove button. It will give you an option to repair the installation. If IE DOES NOT APPEAR in ADD/REMOVE then it was installed piggy back on another application and you are hosed. The alternative is to download a new copy of IE 5.5 from Microsoft or CNET and reinstall it or download the IE 6.0 from
www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and that will fix most any problem with IE. Periodically deleting the Temp Internet files, cookies and History will speed up IE also. I do it once A week. Hope this helps.
