I feel your pain. I quit Comcast because they sucked for a number of reasons and got AT&T. I have only had two known outages with AT&T so I wouldn't give up on them just yet.

I have Vonage and their router does not conflict with with the AT&T modem/router. In fact, I used to use it to confirm that my Comcast internet connection was the problem, and not my computer, just by picking up the phone.
