Smile building $1000 PC for a friend need advice

A friend of mine has asked me if i could help him build his new PC for him because i have done it a few times before, but i have been out of the loop for a few years now so i am slightly confused about the new sockets and which brands are recommended.

He wants to be able to play the Elder Scrolls online game when it comes out and it needs to be within a $1000 budget. He also requires a new monitor included in the price, but does not need operating system software.

I would prefer it to be an Intel/Nvidea build just because i have only build them in the past, but i am fine with AMD if it would be more cost efficient.

So far i am thinking about the following, but i am completely unsure about the case and motherboard. As you can see i am already at the $1000 budget just from these items, so i need to find some ways to save money but still be fast enough. I was wondering if i could get some help with this. Thanks

Western Digital 2TB SATA3 64M Black $159.00
Intel Core i5 3470 LGA1155 CPU 3.2Ghz 6Mb Cache Ivy Bridge $198.00
Gigabyte GV-N660OC-2GD GTX660 2GB,1033/6008MhZ,HDMI $229.00
Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Low Profile Vengeance $72.00
Corsair 750CXM ATX Power Modular Supply $119.00
LiteON SATA DVD-RW 24X Black $22.00
Asus VE247H 23. inch Wide 2ms D-Sub DVI-D HDMI Speaker $175.00
Total: $974.00
