If you would like to build your own for the long haul and can justify around $650 each without OS or peripherals, I think I'd go with something like this - very low power and very cool running:

LIAN LI PC-Q07B USB3.0 Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case - Newegg.com

SeaSonic SSR-450RM 450W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Newegg.com

ASUS P8H77-I Mini ITX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com

Intel Core i3-2120T Sandy Bridge 2.6GHz LGA 1155 35W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623I32120T - Newegg.com

CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML4GX3M2A1600C9B - Newegg.com

Intel 520 Series SSDSC2CW180A3K5 - Newegg.com

LITE-ON Model iHAS124-04 DVD Burner - Bulk Black - Newegg.com

If you need more than 180gb storage, then look at this instead of the SSD:

Western Digital WD AV-25 WD10JUCT 1TB 5400 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - Newegg.com
