So I said to hell with it and installed windows on a 180gb intel 520 series ssd and booted back up, I then moved all my files over from the HDD/SSD raid and then wiped the old ssd. The old x-25 40gb intel drive is still chugging, its just no where near as fast as the 520 that is installed now. I then ran a true image of the entire 520 drive so if it were to go I can just replace it no problem. I then set true image to run a backup every morning at 4 am so I shouldn't ever have this problem again.
