Hi

You don't say what operating system you are using be careful to note the difference between system restore and loading a restore point in Windows 8.

The first option in Windows 8 can wipe your hard drive.

The thing I would try first is to go to control panel / add remove programs / / Windows components.

Uncheck Internet Explorer.

Say OK

It will uninstall IE.

Then reboot.

If you use CCleaner run the registry scan. (optional)

When the computer is back up, repeat the process and go back to the same place and recheck the box.

Windows will reinstall Internet Internet Explorer and reset it to normal settings.

Most of the time this will fix issues like this.
