Is onboard graphics 24 bit?

I have an Asus P8-Z77-V-Deluxe motherboard. At present, I'm using just the onboard graphics. I've just ordered a Spyder4 Pro color callibrator, but in the system requirements it says that I need a 24 bit graphics card.

This will be used for photo editing. Right now what I see on screen is not what I get when I print, so I decided to invest in the Spyder.

Is the onboard graphics 24 bit, and if so, will it work with the Spyder? I've been planning on getting a graphics card anyway, but, if I need it, this will speed up my buying decision.

If I need a card, which do you suggest? I'm planning on getting a Evga from Newegg, but I wonder what card is the best bang for the buck right now.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
