More XP

In order to use a direct connection between two NIC equipped computers, you need a "cross-over" cable. A standard Cat5 will not work. The error messages are correct, there is no valid network connection.

The cross-over cable connects the "send" on one computer to the "receive" on the other computer and vice-versa. Standard Cat5's are "straight-thru" which would connect the "send" to the "send" and the "receive" to the "receive". Can't carry on a conversation htat way. Sorry.
