The wife brought a modem home from work yesterday that was marked bad. They said if I want it I can have it. It's a US Robotics Sportster External 33.6 Faxmodem. No drivers, manuals or anything. I hooked it up and it works. Great. It connects at 28.8. Problem is that it won't hang up. Leaves the phone line open. I have to physically unplug the phone line from the modem to get the phone line to hang up. Can this be fixed? I know nothing about external modems.
Dip switch settings:
1. Data terminal ready
2. Verbal result codes
3. Display codes
4. Echo offline commands
5. Higher if specified in NVRAM
6. Carrier detect normal
7. Load NVRAM defaults
8. Dumb mode
