Yep ...
all the data from the users could be stored on the server, that being backed up every night ... if their computer went missing overnight, they would still have their files. Not only that, if they used another computer on the network, they would still have access to those files. Users can run apps off the server if they wanted, the network manager could keep his/her install files for the client PCs on the server for quicker installs [necessary when the clients do not have a CD-ROM drive], where it's necessary to have users share a folder or files, that can be arranged, etc
... basically.
