And then there is this:

Overlay already in use by another application;
If another application, which makes use of overlay, is already running, the overlay feature of the graphics card will not be available for use by the ATI Video Player.

Common types of applications, which may use or prevent access to the overlay feature include;

Video conferencing software
DVD playback software (such as the ATI DVD Player)

Video editing software (such as the ATI Video Editor OR the ATI Video In Feature for RADEON VIVO graphics cards)

Please close the application using overlay and then re-start the ATI Video Player. In some instances, your system may need to be re-booted prior to attempting to re-launch the ATI Video Player in order to ensure that overlay becomes available for use.
