This question would go better in Alternate OS forums, but I will try to help.
What you may end up doing is changing your version of XFree86 to 4.x.x instead of 3.3.x. After you have done that, you will need to edit your XFree86.config file to look like the one here http://www.deadman.org/X/xbuttons.html He explains it very well in a cook book like fashion for us newbies
