I have the same mouse and have never had any of the weirdness you are describing. But, I NEVER, under any circumstances, install mouse software. You just don't need it for anything. It is big and bloated and half the time, it makes your mouse NOT work!

I would recommend uninstalling Logitech's mouseware, and restarting your computer. Then just plug the mouse in USB. Windows will find it, and install a "USB human interface device". Your mouse will then work just fine, without Logitech's bloatware!
