I didn't know that about Western Digital. I bought it OEM, so I didn't get a manual to read with it. I'm learning my lesson about buying OEM products......

Do you think this has anything to do with the error I'm getting on the Windows XP Home installation? This is the page stop error I'm getting:


" A problem has been detected and windows has shutdown to prevent damage to your computer."

Kernal_Data_Inpage_ Error

If this is the first time your've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need. If the problems continue, remove any newly installed hardware or software.
Disable Bios memory options such as caching, or shadowing.

So far I've removed everything but the video card, HD, CD Rom. Still got the stop error screen...
