HID has a problem
Hi Jenni
This is exactly what I did on the Compaq , and it worked just as you said.
I have tried everything on this post on my Computer to no avail. It was only when I used the other Mouse on my Computer, in the PS2 port that I could get around to add new hardware, and saw that HID had a problem. It had 2 hardware devices listed. 1. an Optical Mouse and 2. a Keyboard I clicked the mouse and it came back with a driver that it found.
Then when I said yes to install the driver, it started to load then came up with an error 1FB and said this device had a problem. The only reason I mentioned the IRQs is I have read of people having conflicts with to many things on or the NIC card needed to be reassined to another IRQ.
I uninstalled everything Logitech, and even did something I have never done. Deleted all the shared files that said Logitech did not need them but another program might.
Each time I have tried to get it to reconize the mouse on Boot, the Mouse will give off a flash like it is trying to find it.
I tried all four USB ports with the External Zip and evertime it takes it and it works. If you remember, the Logitech Tech said it was under waranty for 5 years so I called and told the MGR of the Staples Store that I bought it and he said just send it back to Logitech. He also said he would not even consider exchanging a product, that worked on PS2 and he had run into this before, and said the problem was My Computer, and not the Mouse.
