Well tomorrow the big white truck (FedX) will deliver to my door the long awaited Soltek SL-85DR-C INTEL motherboard (P4) Socket 478 Intel 845-D from Newegg. I will be building a system in about three weeks using a P4 Northwood and the drives and cards from my recently completed AMD XP1700 Soltek SL-DRV4. Of course I will then rebuild the XP1700 and sell it off.
One of the things that I am thinking about is installing Windows XP Pro OEM on it. The reason that I haven't installed Xp sooner is that the time between my major rebuilds of my machines is about 90 days and with the XP activation algorythm, this would mean that I would be calling Redmond on a regular basis and explaining why I need a new number. Even though it would still be only on my main computer.
I am a little fuzzy on the activation for XP Professional in that I heard that it does not use the same setup as the much mentioned XP Home version.
