Inside the mid-tower case I have a 8CFM front-bottom fan and the power supply exhaust fan at the rear-top.
I JUST bought a 2COOLPC (42CFM) case cooler and placed it inside resulting in a minimal 2 degree temperature decrease.
Finally, the tower is inside a desk/hutch. Concerned that there would be heat build-up inside the hutch, I cut out a hole on the back board of the hutch directly aft of the power supply exhaust air and mounted another 8CFM fan that vents the hot air.
The tower doesn't sound too hot based on the temps of other's, but could it be that the heatsink/fan is inadequate for the AMD chip?
Should I consider:
-a thermal compound
-a Golden Orb
-a Global Win F0P32 or
-a PAL6035 Alpha Socket 7 Cooler Kit
-etc.
Help.
