If you insist

A few years ago DL wanted me to replace the toilet with a bright new one. No biggie. It didn't have a water cut-off, so turned off all the water to the house. Set the new toilet in place, went to the curb and restored the water supply. (Still no cut-off at toilet).

After the bowl filled, there was a slight drip on the floor. I grabbed my socket set and began tightening the tank bowls. Oops, it cracked and fell on the floor, water running everywhere. (Still no cut-off installed) I ran to curb, DL in a panic about new carpet getting wet. Turned off the main valve.

Now, times being lean, I was broke, so spent the next few days going to gas station for relief, no baths, etc. I now have a cut-off by toilet, AND DL has never asked me to be a plumber again.
