Slackware isn't all that hard to setup. It just has a text install and makes you create your own partitions using Fdisk. At least on version 7.1, it did. It kind of throws some files in funny places. Apache, on RedHat, Mandrake, is in /etc. In Slackware, it is in /var. I usually move it to /usr/local/apache/ , since that is the default locale. Most everything else except for the graphical loader is quite similar.
