My Bad - RedHat 7.3

Redid the install and this time I chose both KDE and GNOME interface - just to see. It looks like this works because I am now able to see the network config menues and have set up the nic.

I am pinging computers on the network now. =)

Still messing around with File sharing and features like that. The Gnome interface install seems to have made a huge difference.

/shrug. Guess the Unix/Linux gods favor me today.
