Ok, question then, last I checked aol was able to connect online without a dialup adaptor installed, but had something like WAN installed in the 'network adaptors' (in device manager) and the only way to connect was to hit the connect to aol icon, there was never an account in the DUN (from the my computer icon--DUN) I cant remember if there was an account in the 'internet options' or not, as I no longer will work on a machine that has aol on it. Anyway, I guess my question is, if there is no 'dial-up adaptor' installed on windows, how does it still hook up to the DUN? I always thought that the dial-up adaptor was like a main part of DUN, was I mistaken?
