It totally depends. If everyone of your neighbors is running cable modems, then I would probably say DSL. I would probably get the cable modem first. Make sure you don't have to sign a contract with them, and if you don't like it, cancel it and try a dsl line. From people I know, they have had better luck with cable modems than dsl.
