It really depends on where the reseller gets his CPU's.

If they buy OEM's via tube or tray, it takes about 7-10 days for the price drop to catch up in that market (the reseller and his supplier has to work their way thru their higher price stock and acquire new stock at the lower cost).

If the reseller uses boxed/retail chips, and does not stock, the price drop is realized almost immediately (as long as it takes for the complaints saying "your price is too high" to hit a certain threshold and the web site to change)

Box/retail CPU distributors love the week or so after the price drop, as it allows them to have (for a short time) a better price than the broker/OEM/"grey market" channel and man do they sell the hell out the chips. Altho, the window of lower prices has shrunk steadily over the years as resellers have learned the lesson of stocking large quantities of CPU's and then getting whacked on a price drop.
