it has to be a whole lot over to kill one, if its not to mutch over your screen will jus look like a bunch of interlaced lines, and you won't be able to see mutch, and will have to boot into safemode to restore it. but say your trying to run the monitor @ 1600*1200 with a refresh rate of 120hz instead of say 75hz its limit, theres a good chance it will go broke.... if u jus push it say a little like 5hz over and it dosn't work you'll prob jus get the lines I stated above, and not kill the monitor. So it takes a major klutz to kill a monitor
