Well, did you do anything before (installing programs, system tuning etc.) or did it just happen spontaneously ?
I don't know how old your drive is, but maybe the laser lens is dirty, therefore the drive couldn't read very good.
So try a cleaning-cd (they are not expensive
), and we'll see what happens.
