2000pro problems

I have a laptop with 2000pro on it, I bought it used. It came with 32meg- obviously not enough memory- so I ordered 128meg. The computer worked fine just extremely slow. While waiting for the memory to arrive, I put some of my own software on it, and got all of the win 2000 updates. After installing a critical update, it will only boot in safe mode, if I boot normally I get a blue stop screen

"0x00000050 (0xBF79C000, 0x00000001, 0x80461B64, 0x00000000)"

"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA"

"Address 80461B64 base at 80400000, DateStamp 3d366b8b - ntoskrnl.exe"

I have uninstalled ALL windows updates, and even all the software I put on while it still worked, but it is still messed up......

any help would be appreciated.......thanks

I forgot to mention that I still have the same problems after installing the 128meg.
