I completely disagree Jackblack!
Oil is the most valuable treasure of the Iraqi people! What was truly valuable was protected. Oil is both the present and the future of that land, not a bunch of artifacts.
Later reports have the damage not nearly as bad as originally thought, and many objects are turning up and being returned. It was also learned that many of the TRUE valuables were taken and hidden away prior to the war.
