I have SBC Yahoo DSL and the key is to do away with their bloated software and browser and just use the PPPoE client to connect and then IE for the browser.

They have some crappy connection manager software that slows the connection WAY down, and that Yahoo companion browser whatever thing just plain SUCKS.

I uninstalled everything and installed just the Enternet 300 software and the performance was better.

I eventually got real tired of waiting for the thing to connect after rebooting the computer so I went to a NAT router with its own PPPoE client so it stays connected even if I reboot.

Of course I am only 4,100 feet from my CO so I always get around 1300 - 1400 download speeds.
