Right had a look at some of those scan converters. I am in the UK and I found one for £50 but pretty sure it will be rubbish.

I will try and explain this a bit further.

I have my nice little Shuttle box all working as a PC. I want to know if I can get good quality DVD playback (on my TV) and how I would go about doing this. I would prefer to have it all in the one little box.

I also want to record live TV onto my HDD and then I can record these on to DVD later with my DVD writer. Again I want the TV recordings to be very high quality. To do this would my aerial need to go into my TV card (when and if I get one) and then out via the TV-OUT to watch TV? Or could I get my aerial to go into my TV and into my PC? (Break the signal into 2?)

So I want to:

a) Watch DVDs on my TV via my PC.
b) Record live TV

Are the above possible in good quality?

If I play a DVD at the moment the quality is really poor because my graphics card is 32Mb on board! If I get a better video card will the quality improve? - Pretty sure it will would just like some confirmation.
