Hmmm...maybe it doesn't like your version of Nero......or your Nero is corrupted. That's actually likely if it fails analysis using your cd *reader* as a source.

The Ricoh drive *is* somewhat sensitive to heat - try a different bay in your case that's better ventilated. If you have burning problems, the rails may need cleaning and lube. If you open the drive, there are 2 stainless steel rails that the head carriage rides on - clean them and put one tiny drop of teflon-based oil on each rail, spread it out, and put it back together. Clean the puck that clamps the CD in - if you handle CD's by the center hole, your fingerprint oil can cause slippage. Put a full length (74 minute) audio CD into the drive and seek from one end to the other to make the carriage do a full travel. These drives do run forever as long as you do this every couple of years.
