I would not put any type of discharge based light inside of a monitor as it could interfer with the electron beam gun that displays the video on the screen.
Also, as mentioned, you are dealing with lethal voltages iside a monitor (even after it has been off and unplugged for several days). Also a CRT is a precision device that can easily be damaged by the untrained.
If you want a lighted monitor case wait until someone markets one and then buy it.
