Sounds like a great idea

It would save a lot of time lising various brands for things. Instead, you would just point to that thread.

"Hi, I'm looking for a good PSU" "Well, here's a listing of good brands and brands to stay away from here: brand list thread"

There have definately been many, many threads on topics like that. It would offer a good starting place for people who have no idea on what to go for.
