For me... that is a useless point.... I have my homepage set to my ISP homepage... why would I want it, or why would it be any more convenient for it to come up when I open a new window?

It's not more convenient to have your ISP page come up whenever you open a new page, that's why Firefox doesn't open anything when you open a new tab, and that's why it's possible to set different pages (or about
:blank) for startup, new page, and new tab in Mozilla.

I for one am firewalled and patched, find my IE is loading things faster than Firefox, nuke plenty of nasties with AdSubtract Pro, have yet to receive a virus, hijack, or malicious spyware through IE... so why should I bloat my system with yet another browser?

Because there are
IE exploits that have been around for 10 months now without any patches from Microsoft.
And AdSubtract Pro costs money, you can get the same features for free using Mozilla's built-in popup blocker and
Adblock.
