who makes the router, if its a lynksys you might be having a problem with the auto negotiate feature.
try going into the hardware properties for the nic then the advanced tab, then either under auto negotiate, or link speed or something like that, change it to 100 full duplex. if that doesnt work (ie the link light on the router goes off) try one of the other speeds.


the computer isnt picking up the ip like it is supposed to from the router. you might have the dhcp server on the router turned off, and the reason its working in linux might be because you have it manually setup.

you might also want to try manually setting up and ip, make you com something like 192.168.0.52 and the dns 68.9.16.30 and set the gateway and all that other crap
