the adapter is asante friendly net. but that's immateral. whats important is that can you please clarify the pinging method. how do i know which address to ping? is that the address you said in your post? how do i ping if i don't know the IP address.

BTW i think my printer doesn't support TCP/IP can u please confirm this. some some it does and some say it doesn't
