gmail is wanted because it offers a huge amount of space over hotmail (2 MB compared to gmail's 1 gb)
however now there are some alternatives with that much space.
i have been using
www.walla.com too and its been awesome (they give 1 gb space, pretty much no ads), way better then hotmail and maybe better then gmail.
