are you going to be reinstalling windows xp? if so just put the install cd in and erase the partition then when asked just do a full format using NTFS its all part of the install process, if you are not going to install windows and you just want to completely erase the hdd you can use fdisk or there are some other programs out there that do complete erases as well, check out the article on the main page or under drives about hard drive recovery it lists a few programs that will completely erase a hdd on page 2 i think
