You guys are definately right when you say we all pay the price for those who are dishonest, and it's not only in software piracy and "iventory shrinkage". I manage a gas station for a large corporation and when we see the prices go up, there are more people that drive away without paying, because they need the fuel, but they don't have enough money. So the economy is placing some people in a position where they become thieves because they don't see or care about the long term effects of thier actions.
The additional drive offs make the current prices escalate even higher than they once were making the circle a never ending cycle. Pretty soon you will see a lot of large companys going to pre-pay only. We estimate that we lose 9 million dollars a year due to drive offs, and we have a plan to be pre-pay nation wide in 12 months.
