most recent news i've heard on actually being able to get a hold of nforce 4 boards is that msi and asus will both have boards out for christmas (incidentally, all of the demo boards being tested currently are msi and asus i believe).
i would buy the pci-e version if you are completely rebuilding, just for upgrade potential.... 6 months down the road, pop another, much cheaper pci-e 6800 or 6600gt in there, and get a nice performance boost... but that's just my opinion...
