yep, can do either of those, most probably wait and come in on saturday and do it, as it's not critical to do it now, and the machine does get a decent amount of use. I thought about reverting back to previous IE, but didn't know if it'd help. The update is done internally through the program, if that matters, IE isn't used at all. I know, however, I've heard you say IE 6 on 98 is prone to "issues". Funny thing is we've had no problem with this software updating before, it's been in use for a year or so on all of our platforms. Nothing has been changed on the machine either, which is what has me stumped. One side note, the "windows" key was "stuck" for a while, as every letter it seemed I typed (E, M, R) would activate the corresponding hotkey. I rebooted to see if I got the "stuck key" error, and didn't, so I ran a v/s and spybot/adaware scan and the problem went away. Thought maybe that had affected the update, but still no dice.
